About Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc.

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. is a Pacific Northwest metal roofing installation company specializing in Interlock® Lifetime Roofing Systems. We are the official and exclusive installer of Interlock® metal roofs in Oregon and Washington, giving homeowners a permanent alternative to asphalt shingles that’s engineered for the wet, windy, moss-prone, and snow-heavy conditions of the PNW.

A Roofing Contractor Built for the Pacific Northwest

Roofs in the Pacific Northwest face unique stress: heavy rainfall, freeze-thaw cycles, coastal air, high winds, and long seasons where moss and algae thrive. Our job isn’t to manufacture roofing — it’s to install a system that performs here for decades. That’s why we focus exclusively on Interlock® heavy-gauge aluminum roofing, a non-porous, rust-proof, energy-efficient metal roof designed to outlast conventional materials and protect PNW homes for life.

The Interlock® System — Installed the Right Way

A lifetime roof only works if it’s installed precisely. Our certified Interlock crews handle every step: tear-off (or retrofit where appropriate), underlayment, ventilation planning, flashing, valleys, chimneys, skylights, and final detailing. We do not subcontract Interlock installations to unknown crews. Every roof is installed by trained specialists to protect the integrity of the Lifetime Limited Warranty.

Five Profiles. One Permanent Outcome.

We install the full Interlock® Lifetime Roofing lineup across the Pacific Northwest, including:

Interlock® Slate

Close-up of an Interlock® Slate aluminum metal roofing system showing deep-embossed slate texture and interlocking panels in a dark charcoal finish. The low-profile design creates crisp horizontal shadow lines and a realistic stone-slate look while providing durable, weather-tight protection for Pacific Northwest homes. Ideal for Portland, Oregon climates with heavy rain, wind, moss, and seasonal freeze-thaw, this rust-proof metal roof offers long-term performance, snow shedding, and a lifetime roofing solution.

Interlock® Cedar Shingle

Close-up of an Interlock® Cedar Shingle aluminum metal roofing system featuring staggered, interlocking shingle panels with a realistic cedar-grain texture in a dark brown/charcoal blend. The embossed wood-shake pattern creates natural shadow lines and a warm, West-Coast look while delivering permanent, weather-tight protection. Designed for Portland, Oregon and Pacific Northwest climates, this rust-proof metal roof resists moss and algae, handles heavy rain and wind, and provides a lifetime roofing solution without the cracking or rot associated with real cedar or asphalt shingles.

Interlock® Shake

Close-up of an Interlock® Shake aluminum metal roofing system showing deep, wood-shake embossing with pronounced vertical grain and thick shadow lines. The interlocking shake panels create a rugged, dimensional look similar to natural cedar shakes, but with permanent, weather-tight performance. Finished in a dark charcoal tone, this rust-proof aluminum roof is engineered for Portland, Oregon and Pacific Northwest climates, resisting heavy rain, wind uplift, moss and algae growth, and freeze-thaw damage. A lifetime metal roofing solution that delivers mountain-cabin curb appeal without rot, cracking, or repeat re-roofing.

Interlock® Mediterranean Tile

Close-up of an Interlock® Mediterranean Tile aluminum metal roofing system showcasing smooth, barrel-tile contours with crisp, interlocking panel seams in a warm terracotta/red finish. The dimensional tile profile delivers classic Spanish/European curb appeal while providing lightweight, weather-tight performance that won’t crack, absorb moisture, or grow moss like traditional clay or concrete tiles. Built for Portland, Oregon and Pacific Northwest conditions, this rust-proof aluminum metal roof is engineered to handle heavy rain, wind, and freeze-thaw cycles, offering a permanent, lifetime roofing solution with exceptional durability and energy efficiency.

Interlock® Standing Seam

Close-up of an Interlock® Standing Seam aluminum metal roofing system showing wide, smooth vertical panels with raised interlocking seams in a matte charcoal/graphite finish. The clean, modern profile creates strong linear shadow lines and a sleek architectural look while delivering permanent, weather-tight performance. Engineered for Portland, Oregon and Pacific Northwest climates, this rust-proof aluminum standing seam roof resists heavy rain, wind uplift, moss and algae growth, and freeze-thaw damage. The raised seams also make it solar-ready, allowing clamp-on solar mounts without roof penetrations — a lifetime roofing solution built for energy efficiency and long-term durability.

Each profile is chosen to match your home’s architecture while delivering the same core benefits: long-term weather resistance, efficient water shedding, and freedom from regular re-roofing cycles.

  • Can I add solar panels to an Interlock Metal Roofing System?

All our products are solar compatible. Our solar brackets can be installed to house solar crystalline panels.

  • How much does an Interlock Metal Roofing System cost?

Our product is not an off-the-shelf roofing material. Plus the installation procedures vary from structure to structure. For instance, a home with a 3/12 pitch is easier for our installers to work on; therefore, labour costs will be less expensive. A home with no valleys, chimneys, skylights, or dormers will also be less expensive. Please contact Rachelle for pricing info.

Please visit our knowledgebase for more information:

  • Are metal roofs loud?

Our customers keep telling us that their new Interlock Roof is no noisier than their previous asphalt shingle roof.

Please visit our knowledgebase for more information:

  • Do you offer financing?

Yes! We offer affordable monthly, bi-weekly and weekly payment options for your purchase. Visit our Financing page for more info.

  • Does a metal roof attract lightning?

No, a metal roof will not make lightning more likely to strike, but it may make a lightning strike less dangerous if it occurs. A conductive metal roof gives lightning a low-resistance path to the earth.

  • Are metal roofs hot?

All Interlock Metal Roofs are coated with the Alunar® Coating System. The "Cool Roof" ceramic pigment technology in the coating reflects and emits more of the sun's UV rays from entering the attic space. Interlock Metal Roofing Systems are CRRC-rated (Cool Roof Rating Council).

  • Do metal roofs protect against hail?

All Interlock® Roofs are made from heavy gauge aluminum which has been tested and has surpassed the industry standard measurement for impact resistance: UL 2218 — Standard for Impact Resistance of Prepared Roof Covering Materials.

  • Can you walk on a metal roof?

While it is safe to walk on, in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions, the low-maintenance Interlock® Roof almost eliminates that need.

  • What metal is an Interlock Roof made from?

All Interlock® Roofs are available in heavy gauge aluminum coated with the Alunar® Coating System.

In addition, solid copper is also available in all profiles.

  • Can I install an Interlock Roof myself?

While some of us enjoy a good DIY project, to keep the integrity of our Lifetime Limited Warranty we only use certified Interlock crews for installation.

  • Is Interlock Roofing available in my area?

Interlock Metal Roofing is available in Portland Metro, Oregon Coast, Willamette Valley, Mt. Hood & Columbia River Gorge.
